Creating a charging platform?
Without having to go buy another one, does anyone have a idea of how to create a charging platform that I can hook alligator clips to. I have a Piranha Digital Peak Charger that can go way down in amperage charges, and I managed to peak the battery once before.. Had super amount of runtime (about 15 minutes) and torque (well charged it at .5 amps). Though, it took forever to get the contacts lined up, and I cant seem to do it again.
I cant figure a good system to create so I can keep in contact with those tabs. Yet wont pop off with the weight of the clips.

I took the charging base out and connected red/black wires with connectors to my base. I just plug the base into the peak charger and go. .5 amps may be a little high depending on the number of cells you're charging. I used to do that but fried a couple of batts. I normally follow the rule of charging at number of cells + one. So for instance a duel cell puts out 2.4 volts, I would charge at 3.6 volts. A tricell puts out 3.6 so I charge at 4.8. So on and so forth. But yeah, try putting wires on your base leading to something the alligator clips can get a hold of.

I see, then I just cut a small hole in the case, and hook up some mini deans for the charger to go into.
Well this might lead into another question, but how do you get the transmitter case apart? I have tried numerous times, but only one side comes loose when I remove the screws from the back.
The charger Im using automatically gives it the correct voltage. But amp draw.. I can go lower.

The only thing about keeping it in the case is that you can fry the transmitter. I fried mine, but I was lucky I had another one. That controller is now a charger only base.
Is it an SE or original ZZ??? The SE has a screw in the middle of the steering wheel. There is a black plastic piece that covers it, you need to pry that out.
Otherwise, if memory serves me right, there should only be four screws you take out on either controller, from the rear.

I notice this is an old thread but I am trying to do exactly the same thing.
I just got an ZipZaps SE and trying to take the charging base out to make an adaptor for the peak charger. Notice that the SE sync the channel with the transmitter with the car when it's attached to the base, I don't think I can just take the charging pad out without trashing the transmitter. Doing that I will just turn the transmitter into a pure charging pad. Am I correct?
If that's the case, I would have to find and alternate charging pad. Is there any clone(cheaper) which is compatable with ZipZaps SE such that I can just remove the charging pad or should I just get a normal ZipZaps instead?
