after looking at lexars' work, i am more interested in using a quick plug type charging port rather than having to continually open and close the electronics bay.

having discussed this type, it seems this particular choice may not be the safest for the electronics...i tried to use micro deans plugs however they required to much force to plug and unplug. no easy way to use them without breaking something or fabricating a metal part to hold it. does anyone else have any ideas?
also, i had the idea of using micro leds to display the status of the battery charge....green=ready to go, red=time to recharge, etc. the problem is i have no idea if this is possible or whats involved, electronically speaking. does anyone have any insight?
interested in comments/suggestions/ideas/questions...i'd like to incorporate what i can of these ideas into my next project.
