I was driving my Epoch spec 2 and noticed that it had a tendency to hop in the rear when it was about to brake traction on a tacky surface. I began to look it over and deciced a softer spring would help! So I got one fromthe hardware store and installed it. Checking the car out by pushing down on the rear to see if the spring felt softer. I noticed that if you lift the back of the car the rear wheels came of the ground with no suspension travel.
I then knew that this thing need to float a bit on the suspension! Any one that has had racing 1/10 scale cars know you need suspension travel in both direction. This is to keep the tires on the ground. Now the mod!
I cut on coil and bent the end so the inside dia. was close to the screw in the the t-plate. I then put this coil in between the bottom of the t-plate and the screw head with some adjustment I got it all right.
Now I can lift the rear of the car a good 1/8" -1/4" and still have the wheels on the ground. The combo of this and a softer sping has got me glued to the track!
Try this out and let me know. My camera is not good with close ups so hpe I gave enough detail.
