What's your favorite battery setup?
I started this thread because i wanted to hear other's opinions on the pros and cons of different battery setups.
Personally i have used 4,5,6,7, and 8 cell battery setups. I haven't tried lithium ions yet so some input would definately be appreciated.
ok this is what i think(using tight turns,AWD,soft slicks,Medium suspension all around, s/b magnets, ball-bearing can, ~37k motor)
-4 cells is good when it comes to a smooth surface in handling, on pavement it is incredibly unstable. top speed and accell are bad
-5 cell with battery behind back bumper is faster and the handling might be a little worse
-6 cell with batteries behind back bumper-accellaration is best with torque and so is top speed. Handling is shoddy, front end really loosens with increased top speed and flips over sometimes.
-7 cell has so much torque that the car can't really put it to the ground, top speed i believe suffers a bit and handling is suprisingly pleasent. the added weight really added some stability on concrete. The car when on full throttle and turn will sometimes drift a bit into a turn not lossing a lot of speed when taking high speed turns.
-8 cell handling is a little bit like 7 cell setup but more drifty in fact tires can't put down the torque to the ground. too much tire spin on turns. I really didn't take the time to change the setup to make the handling better but i believe its just too heavy. CHECK THIS OUT so much darn torque that it ripped my crazy glued tires right off the rims! But i see hardly any top speed and accell is terrible.
In conclusion-6 cell for accel and top speed and 7 cell for handling
