Problem? Slow ZZ SE

I just got my ZZ SE and the Power Upgrade kit in the mail today, the Blue GTO one. I put together the Stock stuff to just see if i would notice a difference in the stock and the other stuff in the kit. So I ran it around a little bit and then change the stuff out with the ones in the Kit and the car seemed to run even slower then stock and it reverse really slow and jerky. I all so have a Muscle Machine micro RC and it goes faster then the ZZ that has the purple motor (looks blue to me) and red gears in it. Those two are the fastest ones right? I would thing that the ZZ would be a lot faster then the Muscle Machine one after putting those in.

Any information on this would be appreciated.

P.S. and Also does FET stand for? i have seen it in a few posts.
