what would be a good, easy mod

im kind of retarded when it comes to electronics (and im afraid sodder/screw around with magnets), but I'm good at taking things apart/ putting them back together. what would be a good mod that would improve my xmod's performance that wouldn't involve soddering/the possibility of ruining my xmod ($50 is a lot for me)?
