some information id like to share

a few things - for everyone who owns a xmod

if you get the body kit (or not) the cars ride very low (especially with the wild kits) and my friend was driving in the mall on the tile, and at high speed found one tile that was less than 1/8 inch taller than the rest, and it ripped his body clean off - broke the light kit plug (very flimsy) and the front of the body where the chassis mounts - it still works but he had to solder the light kit and runs with the body barely on.

i have since taken off my wild front bumper (awwww it looks so COOL) and have gone back to the mild and i am more aware of how delicate the bottom of the bumper is. i have to back over some small obstacles, like the metal strips between carpet and wood floors. dont get me wrong the cars are very durable - my friend has two and we have three running at the same time (along with my miniz overland with monster truck tires) and we wreck into each other at full speed head on with no problems. well sometimes the crystal gets dislodged.

the bearing kit is horrible, but i decided to take advantage of it. the bearings are full of grease (more like petrolium jelly or something nasty) and after a few runs my car was covered in the grease. so i took it apart and sprayed all the moving parts with electric motor cleaner. the bearings, when clean, work very very well - i added a small amount of machine oil and let them dry. now my car seems to have much more acceleration (like a spring in ones step) - and even with a stage 2 9 pinion i run longer than my friends stock xmod with 8 pinion stock motor.

i will have to clean the bearings often but its not that bad for such a decent increase in performance and runtime. with the engine disconnected it will roll several feet now - i can spin the rear assembly with my hands - nice and free rotation.
