Thumbs up I think I figured out how to mod for moving turrets

I have been reading many of the old posts. To all 3 people that still read this, I think I may have actually figured out how to mod these so that we can control the turret. Bear in mind, I do not even have a tank yet, and that this rests on my speculation.

It all started when I read jayd's post and saw the pics inside. Then I watched the video of the new tanks again, and as someone else previously noted, we now know that the right button must be held down while the controller is turned left or right. Now I read and re-read jayd's post, and he said he NEVER EVEN TRIED to wire it this way, because he assumed a new ROM is needed, and he also added that with the current controls, if you hit the right button, it will fire, so he thought it would be unfeasible.

Presented for your consideration: When you hit the switch, all you are doing is closing the circuit so that an electric current can pass, correct? All we would need to do is re-wire the wiring which runs to the right trigger, to the left trigger, so both circuits are closed at once (or perhaps even just eliminate the wiring to the right trigger altogether ((exteme 3rd case scenario: add in another button on the controller and hook it up (((best case scenario: use meltdown's sound mod, and use the right trigger wires)))))). Then wire the original right button to the to correct points on the pcb (they were H+ and H- I believe). Wire up a motor to the correct place on the tanks pcb (H+ and H- again I think). Charge your tank, hold down the right button and press the joystick. Does it work? I DONT KNOW!! hehe But I do know that no one has reported trying this. I will do it the day my tanks get here. Someone else mentioned how to get the gears in there correctly, I will look it up later, but there is the final problem, of relocating the battery; I guess this would be dependent on each tank...where could you fit it? Where do you want more weight?

Just remember, if this works, you heard it from me. If it doesn't, lets never speak of this again. ; P
