Just so you know before examining these next two images, I can build anything, just don't ask me to make the wireing pretty.
In these images, I was just experimenting with the way I would have the wires for the lights routed.

Conceptual wire routing.
I used the chassis as a ground plane just like a real vehicle. all the negative wires connect to the chassis.
Switch number 1 is the radio. Number 2 is the lights.

Did you read about my idea for a rotary bit engine? That is what I mean by being stupid! It is "Rotary" BTW LOL
