another motor query
What motor has alot of torque? Im thinkin of doing a dual (possibly triple) NiHM battery mod and getting a high torque motor to try doing wheelies.

well, with a dual battery mod, my bit flips onto its back end i has so much torque and I run a motor. I think you should go for a motor with the least torque such as a motor with gearing

no, I don't think a single NiMH battery would do it, but any dual battery mod would definitely pull wheelies. If you have a lower RPM motor, you may have to hit it in reverse, then slam it into forward and it will do wheelies. try taping a quarter or two to the back of the bit and it should do wheelies then. also try a

I hope you are not confusing the orange (stock) gears with .
Because the orange (stock) gears are .

The only gears available for Bits are the , , .
The rest are probably from Bit Racers.
And I made a terrible mistake for a serious bit fan
I said that the orange (stock) gears are the and its wrong.
The orange (stock) gears are the .

The slower motors actualy tend to exhibit higher torque than the faster ones. Really the only point where the faster motors can out torque them is with the high ratio gears, like the 9.86:1 and 12:1. The 1.6's tend to be a little too slow on those to make them much fun. The top speed with the 3.0+ is slower than with sub 8.25:1, but they have awesome pickup.

thanx.
One thing i wanna make sure of, The smaller motors have more torque and less speed, and the higher have less torque and more speed, right? Because the turns on the motor decreses as it gets higher, which means less torque on fast motors...... right?

i think the 1.6 is the most torque-y. it seems to have no trouble climbing a hill and it isnt too slow.

That's more or less correct. With electric motors there is a trade off between speed and power. The slower motors generally have more torque than the faster ones. The gear selection has a lot to do with it. They work on mechanical advantage. The higher ratios have a lower top speed but better pickup, and therefore, more torque.
The motor outputs a given power. Over a given time interval, it does a certain amount of work. Under practical circumstances, that amount doesn't change. Work is measured in distance*force. For an 8.25:1 gearing, the motor spins 8.25 times for each time the wheels spin. In a 12:1, the motor spins 12 times for each wheel revolution. If you do the ratios it means the 8.25 gearing goes 1.45 times (12/8.25) the distance of the 12:1. That means the 12:1 puts out 1.45 times the force in order to keep the fractions equal.
I hope that makes sense. And I hope it's actually useful to someone.
