I haven't noticed any problems yet, I still get around 80 feet before it starts wigging out.

Maybe, the antenna wire accidently touched one of the batteries?

i'll look into it...

nah.. can't be that, cause when i moved my antenna to the front, i shortened it to the necessary length plus a lil slack for ease of removal

thanks tho

Hmmm.........try using fresh batteries in your controller and car. Like demonracer said, check if those contact things in the crystal are bent and readjust them.

6 cell range

I had the same problem. The question is were you running a light kit w/ the 6 cell setup.?So far I gone threw 2 cars (RIP) by using the 6 cell system and lights. seems to fry the internals and a nice puff of smoke to boot. Let me know cause BC and I were trying to figure this out on the 7.2 6 cell mod thread.

yeah, i have lights, but i fixed the problem...

sup cmuench

yeah i have 6 cells with 6 running headlights and 5 running taillights (working third brake light) but i found out that i'd melted the antenna wire over some of the parts of the circuit board where the crystal sits. i did this actually by experimenting with the light kit... wanna see something BRIGHT? turn on your car and control and touch the antenna to an open connection on your connected light kit... (if you have one)... this however heats up your antenna, and causes the insulation around the wire to melt. but it's really cool looking...

anyway, after doing some surgery and soldering another receiver board in, my xmod works fine with lights and 6 cells...

Nice Pinoy, What receiver board did you use in order to get this to work correctly. Now that I know for a fact that it is frying with the 6 cell and stock light config, i will just re-connect my 6 cells again tonight and run it. Now lets just hope my stage 10 doesnt go beserk. dEmOnRaCeR I returned the two cars already, Radio shack is getting tired of seeing me every week.
