XMOD modded with usual RC components?

Hi!

I am new here. Question is can be XMOD modded to accept usual RC components?
Of course something small like pico servo (0.2 oz), micro receiver, micro controller?

My brother and I found a servo on tower hobbies website that's smaller than stock, and also an ESC that's about the size of a quarter. The only thing we couldn't find small enough was a reciever. That's the only thing holding us back. We added up costs and decided we could do it for $100 or less (we already have a very nice Tx, so that would add to the cost if you were doing it from scratch).
