new esc

does anyone know what is the cheapest place to get a novak spy or an lrp quantum micro esc. or does anyone know of an esc that is better than the stock one. i dont want to deal with it gettin warm and glitchin on me and i need brakes, my cars are too fast to not have a proper way of slowin down. i tried tappin reverse in one with the plasma dash motor and it sent it into a crazy spin. that is no way to get set up for a corner...or is it ;P (spin into a drift around the corner) that would be sick!! X'D

My advice is skip the Novak Spy...it didn't like the 8 cell pack i had...

I also think LRP is more costly than they should be.

The mtroniks line has some small cheap and powerful units.

Anyway you go it probably is better than the stock ESC....but thats all i have to use currently

thanx for the help, those things are great prices, one is cheaper than the stock esc.

binaryterror do you think you can post a picture of your setup with the esc. i want to see what size it is in comparison to car.

Sorry takumi, i had a SPY and it blew out in 5 races running my 8 cell pack

The LRP is 1" x 1" x 1" (easy to make a paper cube to mock it up).

Also those Mtroniks are water proof, meaning keeps out crap as well.

I do have another super tiny yet powerful ESC...it is similar to the one on this page called the Activ Shop Twister Reverse (no brakes ) but it is cheap and handles a 7.2v battery and a 180 size motor. that thing is about 1" long x .25" tall x .5 deep. The wires are huge when you get it...atleast compared to the tiny ESC.
