Bit Char-G PC-Game...

Hello, Iīm going to start a BitChar-G racing game für the PC about mid-april.

For that purpose, I would like you to email me
download links to every available BitChar-G car
in *.3ds (3D StudioMax) or *.x Flie-Format !!

guess they are around 30megs each, should at least have 5000 polys !!

fitting it into Microsizers-shape may also be done by you if the result looks good ;-) !!

Thanx for your HELP !!

Donīt you think thatīs enough ??
feel free up to 50.000 polys per car.

Not my problem, but if you want to make a BCG-game with 2 player split screen and 8player Network support,
hereīs your turn !!

What Camera would be coolest ??

Static like real BCG-driving behind/in car ??

TELL ME !!

Make it like the view you see when you drive your bit in real life.

Are there any .3ds models of Bits in the right preportions? I've been making low poly models of custom Bit bodies (not in 3ds format) to make paper models and I've looked all over for .3ds file of a Bit chassis. I would like to see some if they exsist.

Heres a shot of a body I may do in the future with my low poly chassis template, but there is no way to convert this to .3ds. I have 3D studio max, but I would have to start over and make it from scratch.

AJFoot,

Roughly, about how long does it take you to go from idea to fully finished body?

Hey AJ, this is a pretty big task your going to undertake so if you have any questions about development feel free to ask.

One rule for game development I try and follow is K.I.S.S.
keep it simple stupid. Think of the game SuperSprint a few years back. It was simple, kept the action on one screen, and by todays standards easy to develop on hardware available now to the public. That screen you have designed there with the frame would be great for an in-game design menu, i.e. Bit customization mode.

Again, I'm not saying you can't do this project, just know what your getting into. Development of a game is a long process, and then you have to go BUG-hunting.

Good luck on your project, and keep us imformed on it's progress.

I let you know when I finish one LOL!
No really, designing the shell is the easy part, so lets say 3-4 hours doing whatever I have to do to make a Bit shell on the computer. -3d modeling, rendering a flat 2d pic to be printed out etc.
Cut out and assemble a paper model 1 hour. Applying layers of plastic resin 30min plus drying time in between coats
Shaping, sanding, cutting, filing, drilling the rough plastic shell into shape 20, 30-50hours+ for a finished product.

Sorry about the confusion but I'm not developing the game, B!NO is. I just hijacked the thread talking about my custom bodies.

Sorry, the file format and the editor/modeler I used is suppose to be restricted to public release as per the beta test agreement that I signed, so I can't send any files produced with it. However, I plan on using 3D Studio Max for anything new I do, and I'll send you what I can, when I can...okay?
