Question me too

there is a program for re-writing tankroms, if that's what you are looking for.
the "memory"of the chip could be erased when it was removed.
it could also have been damaged beyond repair.

i never got the rewriting thing working myself. (yet)

you need a pc with a com and parallel port,
a connector that will fit the 4 pins of the tankrom,
a conector for the parallel port, some pieces of wire suitable for the connectors.

and a software program, here is the real trick,
that you have to download from rc-micro.de.

realy interesting stuff there, but reading german language is hard for me,
i do read some german, but the technical slang gets the better of me
most of the time.

some electronics wizzkid could get it to work easy, i'll bet *laugh*

after all, i did get the soundprogram working, so someday i will try this
chiptuning thing too. i just need one more ingredient,

time.

btw, how bad did you "punish" the person who pulled the chip ?
*laugh*

Lightbulb maybe

any chip of the same type will work with your tank,
it happenes that the tanks breakdown beyond the point of repair.
so there must be some chip somewere without a working tank,
i know i have some spares by now.

maybe you could find a cheap deal on a defective set somewere ?
that way you have some spareparts too.

still haven't got the romwriting thing working unfortunatly.
but at least the hardware seem easy enough.

Lightbulb maybe˛

there is also a protocolviewer program that "reads" the signals from the controller,
you could use it to check if the controller is still sending signals with the bad chip.
that way you can rule out defects in your tank itself.
