Hey!
Give it time my Padawan learner ,
I'm sure people will post their personal opinion and we'll make a ratio of Do it vs Don't do it and the majority'll win.
If I get the answer in any way, I'll let you know.I beg you to do the same as well ?
BTW,
Your board is a Rev5 too ?
Later,

Well, somebody has to try it. So with that in mind, solder it off and if it works, great. If it doesn't, solder it back on. Either way, let us know

mine was a variant of the rev 5 and i took a cap 8 off and left the cap 11 there. the cap 8 was the one closest attached to the antenna and it did the trick for me.

Mine are rev 5.0
I don't need the range so much that I will risk hacking my reciever board. The cars crip-cap made such a huge diff that it's not much of a concern right now.
I'm still trying to find out which cap is the one to replace to get a 90sec charge...???

Ripped from QFM. I did this mod but instead of using a 16v/47uf/105C radial cap, I bought a 16v/22uf/105C cap and ran in parallel with the original cap.

Here's a pic of my controller. Notice the 2 capacitors. Both are 16v/22uf/105c. The factory one is bigger. The one I bought is smaller. If you use a 16v/47uf/105c capacitor, be sure to remove the old one.

There's a crip-cap on the car ? Don't some people say it's the timer for the charge or something like that? I remember reading that off a post

Bill:
Thanx but that is an old board. The rev5.0 are different alltogether. Stuff is in all kinds of different places.
Lxcxs:
The crip cap on the car is the one that has done the most for me. I have Microsizers and in looking closely at the box that one came in I can clearly see that said "crip-cap" is not on the pcb in the picture. But... that cap was on my car and did make a huge diff in range when I took it off. Got rid of alot of stuttering while booting around in my living room too
Some people report little change but I have never read of any adverse effects...

Here's a "borrowed" pic from QFM. I de-soldered one end of the cap and slid a pin under it while heating the other end. Not pro but it did the job...

Mr Freeze, post a picture of your rev. 5 board. Someone might be able to tell you which capacitory you need to change for extending the recharging time. Another way to find it is to look for the marking "47uf 105c" on the cap.

This question has been asked to many times.... but okay. I removed my C11 Cap on a rev 5.0a bored and spent the next 3 days resoldering my controller.
My advise is DON'T just buy an attena in the store and your reception gets better. I Have a couple of friends and we all have different type of controller and none of the PCB's look like other ones... I think Tomy just had fun and pushed the random button.
