not really. They are still very popular recording medium for bands and some professional recording studios I've been in. I've also seen some reporters use it to record interviews. And it's not that bad of a general use medium for the average user. The only problem is the software just down-right sux donkey butt. That AND you can only upload to PC in real time (which is what strakka here is hitting on).
Anywho, strakka, sorry man...I don't know anything about the r70. But if you want to record real time (I'm assuming that's what you're meaning) then you'll have to make sure that your MD player/recorder has a 1/8 inch mic plug. If it does have that little plug than all you'll have to do is get a microphone (or whatever...depending on what you want to record) and plug into that little jack. But since I don't know anything about the r70...I couldn't tell you if yours has it or not...my only suggestion would be to search the net for that model.
