Question How many times do you multi-charge?

I was wondering if people really multicharge their bits. Even though it may give them a longer run time, it is also proportional to the amount of time spent charging. So do people multi-charge?

With my hand raised...

Yes, I do.

but no more than twice, because of time and payoff.

I used to charge my car 3 times, and get a 15 min runtime. Now I use my volt meter to peak charge, and it charges for about 3min. before the voltage drops. That's aprox. 4-45sec. charges, and I get 20min runtimes w/ a 3.8 motor. I wouldn't charge more than that, as that is getting the battery warm, and after doing this several times, that is the point where the battery has consistly peaked. Any more and you might get longer runtimes at first, but you'll soon see yor performance deteriorate, if your battery even takes a charge. Also I should mention as your batteries in your controller become weak, it takes longer to charge. The times I've given are with fresh batteries. Read my link above for a better understanding.

Also if you charge your batteries more than once, do so at your own risk. The controller is already giving the battery a little more zap than the batteries like. Some batteries wont be able to handle more than 45sec., but if that happens, I say good riddance to that battery.

Filling your batteries to capacity will also make yor car much punchier.

Dave

Nathan... I have the same setup as u. Fairlady with stock batt and rspec motor. Which gear do u use? I've tried all the bit gears but find the Red zipzap gear the best for track purposes.
