Question about charging.

I have a 350 Z and the run time sucks! I even put a brand spanking new battery in it and it still sucks. I guess it's because of the boost but I don't know. Anyways here's my question:

Can you charge a single battery bit with 9 volts? If not what is the highest amount of volts a bit battery can take?

I wouldn't, I heard that a 9V can fry it. I wouldn't go more than maybe 5V. How long do you get for runtime?

Did you put a new bat in the car or controller?
That is a very short run time no matter what car you got. I don't own a booster but I'ld try getting another bat in the car first and see what happens. That sux I wish I could be more help.

I put a new bet in BOTH. On the box it says to charge for 45 sec and it will run for 2 min but its not even that like a min and a half.

Charging with a higher voltage doesn't do anything. If you read this post You'll see that I stated no matter how many volts the battery took while it charged, they always put out 1.38 when done. Charging at a higher voltage will make the battery charge faster, and potentially fill your battery in shorter amount of time, BUT these controllers are already pushing these batteries to their limit of how fast they can charge. I have a feeling you got a battery that couldn't handle the zap from the fresh batteries. I would replace my battery with a new one, before I started to try to charge it for longer times.

Also read this post that TinyRC made about using a peak charger.

***just wanted to add that I read this statement on the gizmo-guru.com website:
Quote:
It's not advisable to use AA Duracell plus or High Grade Batteries. Please use standard AA Alkaline Batteries. Use of High Grade or Duracell Plus will overcharge the built in Battery in the Bit Char-G, and may need to be replaced.
