Opinions pleaseeeee

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase a mini racer, but the problem is i don't know which is the better buy. Mini z or the Mini x, both of them are pretty expensive (not as expensive as a 1/10 but still). And both of them have good points.

SO here are my questions:

1. ) Which has a a long ranger for the transmitter? I mean it's pointless if i'm racing this thing and the furthest I can go is about 6-7 feet So what is the average distance for a mini z and a min x?

2.) How much of a difference does the Mini 4wd compare to the mini z 2wd in terms of handling?

3.) Which is the more customziable one? Mini Z or Mini x? And when i say customizable i mean available parts not self made parts. hehe

4.) I heard that mini x's have a lot of interfernce so does that affect the way the car handles?

5.) finally of course which feels more like playing with a 1/10 rc car? Mini-x or mini -x

Thanks for the help guys

noobracer, I have many of each and you'll probably be happy with either one, but to answer your questions:

1) X; but both have good enough range to go almost as far as you can see them.
2) Lots! The 4WD gives a big advantage. The Z is really easy to spin until you start upgrading it.
3) Z by a landslide. The X doens't have many hop-ups as it's near perfect out of the box. The Z needs some hopping up to bring it up to snuff.
4) I have not had this problem at all.
5) Mini-X.

Do you have any other RCs? If you're coming from 1/10, consider the X, if you only have Bits etc., then go for the Z, the X is a little tricky for a first RC. Check out http://mini-zracer.com for more Z info. Thanks!

Hi ya tinyrc,

I'm actually coming from the 1/10 rc and the bit racers. So i'm acutally coming from two extremes. (but i really liked 1/10 rc, the customizablity was awesome, from engines down to body) I was looking into the hpi rs4 but i decide to look at the mini's.

I really want a car that doesn't look/run like a cheap toy from the local toy-r-us (from what i can tell neither mini x or mini z will. The mini x sounds good cause of it's 4wd, most cheap toys don't have that feature. But the customizablity of the Mini z just makes it so much more personal and unique as well hehe. Also i notice that the mini z has that ability i guess to fit a long body when you extend the h bar, is this correct? or is it when it's extend that it can fit normal size bodies and the non-extend H bar is for the smaller bodies like the beetle?

I do realize that the Mini X racers don't come with controllers so what would be a very good control. Something's that above average? Can you get prepainted bodies for the mini x? What i wish, and that's if they can is have a belt drive instead of a shaft system for the mini x and mini z (My 1/10 rc is belt)

Oh well, Thanks for you opinion tinyrc

another question

Oh by the way, which would be faster? Mini Z or Mini X when totally upgraded?

this may sound silly but do these things run faster than the Rc cards from Toys-r-us? I'd be disappointed if the cars are slower and yet i pay more for it than a cheezy non upgradable rc car from toys-r-us

HEHE the Mini-X is faster stock. The Mini-Z and all of its mods make it MUCH faster after you sink $$$$ into it. Both are great cars. The Mini-Z F1 cars are faster than the regular Mini-Z's but still just slower than the Mini-X (STOCK).

I have detroyed many of my little cousins cheapo NIKKO and TYCO Toys-r-Us type cars.

Thanks for the repliesss

One more thing, i just went to my local rc hobby store and they told me that the F1 series of mini z's were being discontinued and that the hop ups for f1 series are going to stop. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? I really like the f1 series but if it is going to be discontinued then that would suck espeically if there are no more new upgrades available. I'm going to get a mini today so i've got to figure out quickly hehehe

Thanks

I dont think so, maybe he means he is discontinueing them.

Either way, if you have questions or need parts, definately go to www.mini-zracer.com
