Poll

well, I cant say for absolute on the 45mhz, but I have a 27, 35 ,49 and 57 and the 57mhz has the best range. So between 45 and 27, I would say 45mhz because (at least for me) the higher frequencies have the better ranges. I voted for other because I say 57Mhz has the best range.

i have a 27 mhz and a 45 mhz and from my experience between the two, 57 mhz has better range. The proof that the higher the frequeency, the better the range is found in cordless phones. 900mhz is very good range. 2.4Ghz would be better and, at the moment 5.8 has the best range. so my answers is, between 27mhz and 45mhz, 45mhz has the better range.

57mhz in theory has the best range but it also depends on where you are and what kind of interferance there is.

My friend has the Project D Set - 27 MHZ

Range with normal controller - 50 ft
Range with 4band controller - 15 ft

I have the Mach - 45 mhz

Range with normal controller - 30 ft
Range with 4band controller - 12 ft

As you can see the 4band controller has horrible range. The 27 mhz has a good range but beware of American radio waves interrupting it, like Cordless Phones on the same MHZ. The 45 mhz has no such worries in the USA but the range on mine is smaller as you can see, but not much less after using the 4band.

Also, do the range mods. After unknotting the antenna in the car, plucking out the PCB crip cap, and snipping off the crip cap in the controller, I have yet to find the range on my 45mhz (with normal controller) which means 50+ ft. With the 4band it's still around 15 ft, bleh.

Hope that helps!

(Edit - don't worry about the motor, keep it for your new car. You'll find people on this site are helpful without incentive and don't need the free swag unless it's a fun contest or something!)
