Need Help Hacking...
Hi All,
New to the forum but love micro stuff (have done micro airplanes to this point)!
So, I have a crazy idea...I got my son an SCX Compact slot car for his birthday and it seems like it is the perfect platform for going rc!
I want to try and make a Spektrum compatible 1/43 scale micro.
So, What dNano parts do I need to build the entire front and back portions of the dNano? Can one of you experts make a simple list for me?
A will start with one of the dNano fitting parts set. What else do I need? It looks like I will need the rear axle and diff (Is there a diff?). I will also need some tires.
Will that do it or do I need more front and rear parts?
Thanks in Advance and I intend to post some photos here as I progress.

Dnano build
Sounds like a great Idea however I think you could get into a Dnano and a KT-18 around $250.00. A Spectrum micro reciever alone is over $100.00 not to mention what would you use for a speed control and servo.
Why re-invent the wheel? There are guys who have spent years building there own 1/28th scale chassis that still aren't as good as Kyoshos design of the Mini-z.
Not trying to burst your bubble, not that it couldn't be done, these things are hard enough to wrench on with factory machined parts. Let alone trying to fabricate and tune home made parts.
It might be cool to fabricate a guide for a dnano to run on the slots of your scx track. A slot car you can steer that might be cool!
Good luck,
Jay

Like Jay said, several times, it might end up being more expensive, and time consuming, to build a new chassis. The servo would be the tough part. Not to mention you need a mill/lathe to make some parts. The best way to start would be adapting the SCX bodies to the dNaNo chassis. For what you get, the dNaNo chassis is a good deal; the bodies on the other hand are a bit pricey.
