Rechargeables are usually slightly less voltage that regular alkalines, but you can use them in most anything anyways. I honestly think toy manufacturers put that "don't use rechargeables" on there because they are helping Energizer keep sales up. Batteries and toy sales have been linked since the beginning. And if the batteries are produced by the place selling the toy as well, like Radio Shack, they almost force you to buy the batteries because they are very profitable. I wouldn't sweat it, buy rechargeables and thumb your nose at the propaganda.
