X-MOD-Not satisfied.
Yo,
I just bought an X-mod, i had prolbems and a servo wire came off, ok, i soldered it back. it worked fine, but range was limited. And since I got it i was not satisfied with speed(I drive 30 mph R/C cars) and i want to hit eatleast 20 mph and if possibe, 30mph. What should i do next? I got bearing, AWD and S2 motors. I am going out to moro for a holder for my 6 cell mod. I need a diagram or something so i know how to wire it please. Is thier a range mod out thier? Please, i want this thing faster, and way better acelleration, it is realy slow getting to top speed. When I first ran it, i forgot to empty the capacitatiors in it, it started smoking, I emptined it pretty quick, but i don't know if it was quick enuff. I want non-expensive modds please, easy ones. If I put the spin brush motor in the blue S@ can with the 11 tooth pinon, will I have same top speed, but better acelleration from the spinbrush armature? Just an X-MOD n00b here. LOL. is thier a way to FETT it or does someone sell them?
TY
Bryce Benjamin

If the range is bad, say like 2 feet or so, then take it back!!! The 6 cell is a great mod, I might add.

Just buy a new board for 12 bucks. Why don't you write RS, and ask if you can send it back. Also, try taking it back to RS Canada. What's the worst that can happen, they say no?

ZipZapin i think you expect to much for a little car. as for the range prob that seems to be common my friends car does that too. i made a new antenna but mine didnt have realy bad range. i read somewhere that theres and inductor or some other stuff on the pcb that can burn up

you get what you pay for. do a search for my thread "Extended Range?" to see if that is the problem. i would replace all of the wires at once if possible to eliminate any future problems.

I would try replacing the inductors on the car and the TX you can order from allelectronics.com or a digikey.com there is a shipping charge unless your order over a set dollar amount. I paid the shipping only spent like 15 bucks
BTW great to be back on the boards It has been a while
