motor replacement
i was wondering what motor would be the best replacement for my s2000 stock motor. i was looking at the r-spec II or the perfection 3.8. which has more torque? which is the fastest? would i have to modify the pinion?

Search button. It works wonders. R-Spec has torque, 3.8 has speed. No pinion mods, just pry it off with a finger nail or screwdriver (the little plastic thing).

okay
well i went ahead and got the r-spec anyway, jsut came in the mail today, i thought it would be faster but oh well.
one more thing, my battery wears down even if i'm not using it, although not as fast. is this normal or do i have a short?
(ex: i single or double-charge it, use it for 1 min., turn controller off, come back an hour or so later and it's worn down to almost dead)

It's normal for the battery to go dead on it's own, mine do it all the time and it's no big deal really.

Yep yep, the batteries on a non-SE ZipZap will go dead after a short period due to the receiver circuitry being powered all of the time (i.e. there isn't an off switch to disconnect the battery like on an SE).

just get a small 2 way switch and wire it in series with the positve end of the battery. the hard part is where to hide it. I'd just deal with the battery needing to be recharged.

Somebody did a mod a while back where they installed a cut-down "Dip-Switch" to save the battery.
BUT, remember these use Ni-Cad; so it's not like you can charge it up, stick it on the shelf for a week and come back and play. These batteries *will* self-discharge even if they aren't connected to anything.

Ditto to what Spamman posted... I'd just deal with having to recharge the battery.
@Frizzen, nope, the batteies in the ZipZaps (as well as most micro RCs) are NIMH batteries, not Ni-Cads. Hence they won't suffer the power drain when disconnected (or for that matter, the charge "memory" inherent with Ni-cads). As an example, my SE I can store for two weeks or so (after a full charge, and then turning the switch on the car off), and when I fire it up after a two week storage the car battery uis still charged and ready to go -
