Unhappy Is the rear ball diff adjustable?

I finally got an AWD kit, and the rear diff is really loose. I tried using it alone, and it acted like it had no traction at all, the thing was, it had plenty of traction, but the diff was slipping way too much. I know it was made to be more loose than stock, so the front one wouldn't get too much torque, and that there would be balance, but I'm beginning to wonder if my xmod has more acceleration in the front and the rear is just being dragged. BTW, the demo skyline at RS had a red diff with 2wd, and it worked fine.

But then the drivetrain is biased to the rear... The red diffs allow slippage, and the white one doesn't... I want a balanced drivetrain; equal to all fours. That is why I want to tighten the red rear one, so it'll still allow slippage...

OMG that helped so much... thanks. Adjustable from outside? That is the shiat... I never noticed you could access those three screw from the outside with only a wheel removed

yup its really nice. you can adjust it from really loose to locked with just 3 twists its nice for switching between drifting and grip. i run rwd with a gear diff. its kinda different. if you have skyline gtr wheels and a long screwdriver you dont even need to remove the wheel

Hold up... it goes from locked to loose for me in just a half twist... I can't make it work properly (spin one wheel while the other spins the opposite direction), it just doesn't grip the balls... lol. sorry.

oh sorry i meant 3 twists as in 3 screws hah.. yeah it only takes like barely a twist to adjust it. i dont really know how the ball differential works but i dont think ur suppose to leave the balls in with that mod.

If you take the balls out, it won't have any balls! lol. Seriously, though, the balls allow one side to turn while the other turns the opposite direction... that's why when it is loose, it slides more often, and less power is transferred to the wheels and lost to friction.

the regular ball diff the balls need to stay in. with the mod you have to take your balls out of it. otherwise the LSD (its not a ball diff anymore) wont work.
