My Radio Shack 'Experience'
Hey everybody,
I mentioned in another post that I was having some trouble with my Acura RSX... I still don't know what happened, but I came home, opened the case, and smelled a really strong burning plastic smell... EVERYTHING was turned off, nothing was crossed, etc... But anyway, after that, it wouldn't go more than five feet away from me, and be out of range...
So I took it to Radio Shack, only to find out that they are supposedly going to try and fix it... Which I knew they couldn't... So I dropped it off, and they DIDN'T EVEN ASK WHAT THE H*** WAS WRONG WITH IT!!
So I called them today, asking about it, and here is what they said:
"Well, we found that one of the tires was missing, so we replaced it, you can pick it up whenever you like."
I am so frikkin mad right now, just the fact that they didn't ask, or even bother to throw some batteries in it and test the thing!!I am really gonna have to restrain myself from throwing a tandrum right in the store... Wish me luck...

Sounds like your RS is too close to the experiments going on in area 51. Obviously their brains are fried. LMAO

Check the L2 inductor, I'm willing to bet your antenna came into contact with the battery lead or another hot wire.
If you can solder, you can replace it. If not, you can always buy a new reciever board.

Oh man that is funny, go off on them with customers near. Those people are really stupid and wasting your time. Just get a new car or another returned car free as a parts car.

I had the same problem with my car...except i burned the reciever board by accident when my antenna came in contact with the battery lead. DOH i thought..and then i looked at my reciept and realized i still had another 7 days on my thirty days. I took it back and i figuered it was gonna be a quick swap like it was the FIRST time i returned my car(First time i returned it because of little problems i prolly could have corrected myself..but i figuered i would return it to save myself the hassel). Boy was i wrong..this TIME he openeded the case...took about 10 minutes to mount the antenna and proceeded to run around the store pressing the trigger once and going...seems to work just fine. Mind you he set it on the counter...no wheels..just batteries. He was just tapping the throttle..well ofcouse its bound to pick up somthing say ten feet out...i told him go farther and HOLD down the trigger...12 feet...stutter stutter stutter. So he agreed to exchange it...but i had to take my car body..cause he said it was scratched..COOL..i thought thats fine and then i ended up gettin the car i returned the first time -_- ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGH! Well it runs..o.o...i guess thats what i get for trying to scam myself a return on somthing i broke.

Okay, now I'm pissed.
I got the car back today. They replaced the chassis, with a new Stage 1 motor and all... Fina and good. Then I look and see that the tire is still missing! They are too freakin lazy to go to the back room, pull off a tire from their many returns, and put it on mine. So I'm like, "Ok, I can deal with it... Ill just try to find my old one" THEN I find out that they STOLE MY ANTENNA!!!!!! I'm so mad right now... Just wait until I work there! I'll give the dang things away! :-P Oh well... I have a better antenna I made myself out of a piece of Nitenol (Spelling?)... Anyway, this wire CANNOT BE BROKEN! It rocks... and it always stays straight... It'll never bend...
Oh, and obviously they did fix it, cause I gave the car to my sister, and told her when it goes out of range to yell... I was in my room... THE OTHER END of the house by the time she yelled... So I'm pretty happy bout that...
