I'd need more exact information before I could lay out an exact plan for that, but I would suggest that you mount it by screw,if that's at all possible - I'm new to the structures of these things, I'm just assuming that there's something you can drill into.

On the subject of dragging: I came across a similar situation with my 1:18th C5 Corvette (rest in peace). I had an actual muffler attached to the pipe, so this wasn't really an option for me, but if you cut the ends at equal (but inverse) angles, then you could point the pipe upward past the body and cut some ground clearance at the same time. Two birds with one stone, I would say, since I like that mounting style.

Really what I'd need is the size of the pipe and where you wanted to put it, but that's not all taht important.

Basically, you'd hold the pipe at an angle and Dremel off the bottom part of it straight. That way, the part that would be scraping the ground before is just flat (not realistic but no one's going to be looking at it from the bottom).

Then, in order to keep it from looking like a collection pipe (and more realistic, since real cars would ruin their mufflers by not doing this) cut part of the top off, so that it's flat in relation to the rear bumper.

See if any of this helps. I'm on AIM at Maranello720R if you want to talk more directly.
