Dixie Art
I have the Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS brush and the Iwata Sprint Jet compressor. Very nice combo for an affordable excellent quality setup. You may want to opt for the Smart Jet compressor because I wish I could use a higher psi to see the difference. I've also heard of good things about the medea shark, badger, and paasche airbrush products. I've always read however that Iwata is considered the "best" among airbrush pros so that's what I picked.
And no, the body will not be orange......you'll just have to wait. I also am doing a little something "special" with an LED setup.
Fitting a Mini-Z Subaru '01 WRC and the GC8 WRX (older body style) body will be the next mods.

Nice setup you've got there. I have been putting off getting another airbrush, but with my new toy coming and many clear bodoes I will be wanting to custom paint, I may have to break down and get one. This will be a good idea to follow for a booth.
Nice work!

u should paint ur bodies in one piece... ull save urself ALOT of trouble... and ur quality will be a lil nicer... also u should have a single wire taped 2 the inside of ur body and allow the body to rotate on it... thats how pro booths are setup

i would tend to disagree with that. that would mean that paint would fill in between the interchangable sections and that would just lead to problems when changing kits.
The painting was delayed for racing purposes. I'll start masking and hopefully get to the first coat tomorrow night.

Yah definitely dont paint it in one piece. I bought a $20 airbrush kit out at walmart. It works pretty good, a lot better than spray paint anywho and paint is cheap($1/bottle). Definitely the way to go...

i just got a airbrush from michles. it is the basic kit for $26. i got it for 13 because of a cupon. i have looked at the airbrush kits from walmart and this is alot better qulity. but if you want good quility you have to get one of those $136 ones they have(coupon would work great for that!! ) i have not painted yet and i was wondering do you just use testors enamle that is thined down 1:1??

Paint preparation pics:
Fine sanding of all parts for paint preparation:
Masked off windows, headlights, and tailights:
For an update, the paint is done, it took 3 coats and now the hood has a flaw so i will have to sand/repaint that. The gloss lacquer coats will be going on tomorrow. The color turned out really good. Anyways enough teasing. I will definitely have it all finished lights, rims, and body by the end of next week if not sooner.
