remove the criple capacitor and loose range.

hi guys,
i've remove the criple capacitor from the rx board and the range did not increase at all, instead it loose range. did any of you try this mod and got bad result?

errm actually...i did the cripple mod on my red Evo just a few hours ago after reading Ausmicro message board
i desoldered mine off....i didnt cut it....

it seems that my range doubled...but i havent tested it outside yet...so inside i get about 30 feet

what kind of car do u have? and are u SURE u cut off the right one?

could it have anything to do with the megahertz frequentcy. i remove the capacitor from the 27 megahertz board. on my 49 megahertz board i have better range with the capacitor on.

I had a similar problem.....removed the crip cap worked great for about 2 days. Then i forgot the car on the charger for about 30 minutes lost ALL range. Then a few weeks later gained range back, to soon find out that i would loose it again the next day. Got frustrated and did telescoping antenna mod to controller, now i have 20 stutter free feet and 25 max feet range. All is well
