Rechargeable Batteries?
Does anybody know if there are any rechargeable batteries on the market? Plnatraco says that they might produce them in the future, but no recent advances have been made. Are there any 3v rechargeable batteries that would fit in the Desktop Rover. I'm gonna go broke buying new ones every week. I use mine a lot. Haha i can't stop playing laser tag w/ my nieghbor. Is there any way i could rewire it possibly so i could put some rechargeable AA's or AAA's in them. Help! If I can't find one soon I won't be able to play w/ my rover much longer. I have some technical knowledge so I could solder and resolder. I would be most grateful for any help.

cheap batteries if you dont find rechargables. The shipping is 8 bucks from there, so buy a few batteries to save.

They use 3v litium battiries, most commonly used for cameras. They are shaped like mini C batteries, but like 3/4 off an inch long. Problem is, thier expensive, like 10 bucks for one 9v (for the controller) and two 3v (for the tank). Unfortunately, the tank is tiny, so thier isin't much room for anything.

I had one and brought it back because tha Batts where so expensive- But i found a cheap store shortly after- still, its not cheap to run it every day.
I emailed plantraco a while ago, and they stated that they are currently testing a prototype, but it will be a while untill the minor bugs are fixed, I believe to remember it was a problem to adapt t to their Lithium Charger Plug or something, maybee it was the chargers range of volt/A.
Regular NiCd or NiMh Recharg. would not be much fun, since the Lithium-cells have a much higher capacity- but cant give off as much energy as others.
I hope they will soon have them in stock, since I shortly had the whole set (with cam), and it rocks- now they even have the webdemo with the rovercam (which is pretty slow and irritating- still, nice! ;D )
Oh, btw, I started a Yahoo group for the DR a while ago, not much going on though :-(
If the DR will be available with Li-Recharg. I will buy it and install a similar thing like the rover demo- maybee just in my whole apartment ;D I hope I dont step at it .
One thing I noticed while I had it: It tips lots easier then on the webdemo- they use some kind of thicker wire so it rolls over/doenst skip as easy....
any details on that?
