just a couple questions i had on the epoch

i searched most of this stuff with pretty good results but thought i'd throw up my questions anyway

1. Will the wheelsets they sell at hlj fit the speed racer chassis?
2. Are there any readily available spec 1 bodies or do i have to modify spec 2 bodies to fit.
3. will the radio that comes with a spec 1 control a spec 2?
4. i read the tutorial on fitting spec 2 bodies on spec 1 chassis but didn't really understand it would i understand it better if i was looking at the parts in front of me or is it complicated?

i think thats about it for now.

Doug

If you remove the Speed Racer wheels and tires you will find the standard spec 1 rims attached to the car. So the other wheels from HLJ should fit as will the spec1 or spec 2 tires. Using the spec2 tires helps reduce the fender gap quite a bit. The Spec 1 radio is identical to the spec 2 so it will work. IM not sure about the spec 2 body mounting on the spec 1 chassis?

Do like I'm doing, buy the Spec2 chassis and PCB and install the rest of the Spec1 stuff into the new chassis!

There you go, get the stuff from www.******.com

No way tiny...i just had to have the PCB and the Chassis really quick (got money from a side job). Dont worry, i still need to get a skyline Spec2 chassis/body kit. And if you plan to stock the other stuff (components) i'll need those on order as well. You gonna get the 4 cell packs back? (you know i hate to solder batteries)

That www.******.com is FAR away to me and it took them like 2 days to decide to ship, now i will have to wait about 5 more business days to get the stuff.

Either way tiny, i'll have a decent order coming to you...AS SOON AS the parts arrive!

And i'll keep everyone posted on the swap.

****
Both boards have 9 connected wires. However according to everything about the Spec2 it has a far superior PCB unit and allows for easier 4 cell...we'll see

I was thinking about doing the same thing, binary: all the parts should be the same right? If it is I'll order the chassis and pcb also. I'm glad that the pcb, is bigger, because soldering those bitchar-g pcb wires is a BIT troublesome!!! (I know, I know, I'm a sorry excuse for a comedian) I really dred taking the epoch apart, since I know how troublesome it is, just to find out if the battery's NICad or NIMH.
