I got a 3.0 for like 7.99 and its great. I think it is a great all around motor torq/top speed. I am not sure what brand it is but it is red. I would recommend a 2.6 K.I.T. motor from Hotwheels if you can not get a 3.0. I find a big difference in slowing down. The 3.0 rolls to a stop and my K.I.T. motor kinda has the brakes on even though you don't press it. But if you are racing on small tight tracks with not very much striaghts I would go with the 2.6 K.I.T. But if you are racing on small tight tracks and long striaghts you will what to get the 3.0 so you can roll in the turns and out of turns quicker. I am using th whites gears also.

if you want real reliability, try a 2.2. Not real fast, but with a 2cell car it would probably be just right. Also, bensu clone motors seem to be very good, at about a 1.6 accel and a 3.0 speed. Good stuff.
