When you want to increase your voltage, you have to break the existing loop and series connect new batteries.

For the Evo's, I unsolder the red wire on the pcb and solder that to the negative of a battery holder. Then, I solder the positive of the battery holder to where the previous red wire was attached to the pcb.

On the gen 1, I cut the wire that goes between the two battery holders and add one in there. Again, the batteries need to be wired positive to negative all the way through.

for gen 1 is it ABSOLUTELY nessecary (yea ha ha i made a spelling mistake) to solder the wires i did it to my evo by cutting wires so for a gen 1 why cant i just cut the wire use tape and wrap it up (thats a pun remember safe sex kids)

In that situation you can. I still recomend solder because then you know the joint isn't coming apart and you have a better connection. When i'm testing things I twist wires together all the time. But when I'm finally done, I go back through and solder them.

2 cells sit nicely on top of chasis under the body. That's what i formerly used on my blue civic.
