Talking Very Fun Mod

ok, here is a mod to kick some racing ass.

go to solarbotics.com and get one of their mini pager motors.
these motors really kick cause they have to be able to roll a big wait for a vibrator, but the shaft is just big enough for the black gear. then cut out the very back wall the motor holder because the motor is a tad bit too big for the car. then tape in the motor and watch it leave tire tracks

Cool - how would you say it compares to a 3.0 with boost? Are you certain it's safe for the BC-G ESC?

it's probably not safe, if you have an old car like I do, then I don't really care... but if you have a brand spankin new one then be careful

This was one of my first mods. It isnt all that. It runs close to a 2.2 on a bitracer axle. It does have better torque, but it doesnt blow away Micro B motors, esp anything 2.2 and up. I have taken apart 9 different pagers, and tried the ones that would fit. Older pagers use larger diameter motors similar to the OEMs or the GP microcycles. Thus they cant be used on bits, because they dont fit in the motor well. The newer pagers are all standard in size, and fit with a little wire fiddling. I have to use a black 6 tooth motor gear with bitracer axles to get the gears to line up accurately. They dont just pop right in either. they are slightly longer, and its best to put them in flat side up. They arent cylindrical. Some are.

Actual RPMS in chinese manufactured vibrator motors only run between 6-11K RPM. Anything higher isnt necessaryfor a pager vibrator.

Wanna see tech specs and schematics? Go to www.questformadness.com and look in the articles summary. Click on motor specs.

Wanna see pics of a bit using a motorola motor? Click on pager vibrator motors in the mods list.

Sorry, I guess the term ESC isn't accurate, I meant the circuitry in general.

Muahaha. Only Mini-Z and up have ESC. Besides, its too small to fit a ESC.

Yes, obviously, I merely said ESC meaning the electronics, as it's usually the ESC that blows if you make mods to the cells or motor on other cars. Obviously the BC-G has no ESC, just an on/off!

Every single ESC I own is smaller than a BC-G, you're obviously not current on recent ESC technology!
