Hey, thinking about x mods

hey, im new to the forums so first off, wuts up? Well ive been looking in the these x mods for a couple days now and want a little more info before buying one. How are they as far as.... 1.speed 2.handling 3.battery life 4.fun 5.durability

also, what would you recomend i put on my x mod first thing? im planning on getting stage 2's for sure, being into rc for a while (mostly nitro), i know bearings are important so i will probly get those, and probrobly the rechargables, then later i may get the light kit and such, any recomendations?

Being 13 i dont have much money so i need to research my purchases well ya know? thanks in advance to any replys!

Best thing to do is read the forums from the begining.

Happy Reading

Welcome to the forums. All I gotta say is get the starter and see if you enjoy it, then go for the upgrades; good luck with having the upgrades in stock. I know that the stage 2 motors are definitely in stock as well as most of the visual upgrades; unless you're one extremely lucky guy who finds a RS with AWD, lights, suspension and bearing kits IN STOCK.

They arent very fast out the box espaiclly if your used to running nitros. Stay away from alkaline batts and pick up nihm rechargables FIRST. Try and find the xmod nihm bat and recharger kit..thats a decent buy. That will improve performance. Stage two motor should be second on your list. Have fun.

1. Speed is about 9-10 mph out of the box.

2. Handling isn't all that good if you ask me; the back suspension isn't the best design, because when it travels downward, camber increases. Also the batteries are mounted too high (they should be mounted lower like the MR-02 Mini-Z's). The suspension kit does a lot from what I've heard to let you tune it (I don't have it, out of stock everywhere ).

3. Battery life is pretty good @ stock, but when you start modding it, that goes down quite a bit. I strongly recommed Rayovac IC-3's. They charge in 15 minutes, and last longer than alkalines . The bearings help to give you a little more life.

4. They are quite a bit of fun, especially because they don't dent your wallet like a Mini-Z would.

5. Durability is a big issue with these. If you do get one you should definetly hang onto your receipt. Many people have had problems with their's, and have had to exchange them.

Here is a list of mods that I think are essential:

-Rayovac IC-3's (found at Wal-mart, and here)
-Bearings
-Stage 2 motor upgrade (and a SpinBrush mod to one of them)
-AWD (If you want to do a lot of drifting)
-Tire upgrade
-Suspension (because you can do a lot of tuning with it)
-5/6 cell upgrade

Well being the owner of 3 X-mods. This is my List of Priority-
1-Rechargebles(YOU NEED THEM!!!!!)
2-Motors( if you want something more than torque)
3-Tires(not neccesary but depending on the surfaces you need them)

Other than that its all fashion upgrades, I have the body kits and so on, but if you want custonm stuff like 6 cells or S1 Hybrid than thats another story.

I Strongly recomend the Rayovac IC-3 rechargeables bats and the charger. I don't have them, but lots of feedback has quoted that it can last for an hour and the recharge time is 15mins! if you would get the RS rechargeable bats, u'll only get 15min runtime and 1hour of chargeing time
