blue tape ruined my car..
ok well, first off, i painted my car, then painted the windows, and i masked it profesionally with that blue painters masking tape, painted the windows, then touched up. still looked like sh**, i didnt understand how everyone elses looked perfect, when i did everything i could. nothing went right, NEVER BUY enamel model master paint.. i ended up blowing 20$ on paint, which now has to be removed cause it didnt dry good, it pooled up everywhere, make weird ass ripples.. and othre stuff.. then i clearcoated it with krylon clear coat, 3 coats. then i went to retouch up the windows and stuff, put blue masking tape on, painted it and went to remove the tape and it ripped off the whole windshield of clear coat and wherever else was masked.. i cant take this anymore and i just want to kill myself it makes me so angry. my whole life is a sham.. nothing ever goes right no matter what i do...... so dont buy enamel model master paint unless you want to commit suicide

end it end it now
do it, and leave a note telling your mommie that your x-mod made you do it, then she'll sue Radio Shack and be wealthy beyond belief and start dating Nelly, until 50 cent steals her away and she's livin' the phat-life in Hollywood Hills until your alarm goes off and you see them playing "It's a Wonderful Life" on TV and you realize that it's time for school and you get all depressed again and get on the bus only to relaize that Freddy Kreuger is behind the wheel and speeds off with a sinister laugh....
okay, now you see how far you REALLY CAN take being overdramatic.......heh heh heh....try again, practice makes perfect...even Lance Armstrong once had training wheels.

Dont sand the body. All you have to do is use primer and paint will stick fine. Mask the windows before painting, then you wont have to pain them. Just use BC's paint tutorial. Very simple and time tested.

oh my god throw a hissy fit i know it cam be annoying to spend all that time masking off the windows and head lights tail lights.
Then you paint it and it all screws up i know how you feel i painted my skyline 3 times i got mad and just sprayed one heavy coat on the body of that enamel paint and it took a day to dry but oh my god it was so smooth but it did have a couple of runs but it was smooth painting takes time and if you rush through it it won't come out good and you will get fustrated and then you might do something you will regret just take your time

lol, it hasnt ever been my first project. my whole point was, i am a perfectionist, and even to me it didnt work. model masters enamel sucks period. i went out today got 2 cans of tamiya gold and clear coat...just gotta re-soak it in goof off. i just hate wasting like 2 weeks of paint and ish, to be ruined by painters masking tape ripping off the clear coat.

I'm surprised you had this problem. I have used both Tamiya and Testors clearcoat (both lacquers), and I have used them over both Tamiya lacquer finishes and Testors enamels, and have never had a problem. I also did both of my RSXs without stripping the old paint or priming. I think the Testors paint works fine without, but the Tamiya works better if you strip and prime first.

no, i just stripped it for the 6th time.. :x i think 6th times a charm :\ . im fully sand then prime then paint. BC's tut doesnt help at all with masking of windows. he just assumes that theyre either pre-painted or something and its very vague.

Krylon Short-Cut enamel paint works really well too. I've used it on my Supra (yellow) and my RSX (teal and white) and it's come out perfectly both times. It also comes in small rattle cans so you don't have to blow alot of cash to paint one car. They make a clear coat that is really shiny and protects the paint pretty well, too.
