Have a hosed electronics board ?
I am looking to buy your hosed electronics board from your xmod.
I want to do some practice removeing/soldering in fets.
hopefully somone has a messed up board I can get cheap :-)

pcb? RIGHT HERE! how much you want for it? on my board there is something wrong with the range, maybe its hte antenna or something but i dunno ill sell it to ya!

dude, you can go to RS and buy some blank circuitboard or bread-board to practice your soldering and that junk is like 50 cents.

Check your L2 inductor, near the command logic port.

if you're just starting to solder find a broken radio and practicing removing through mount resistors. then when you get good at that go for the surface moutnt stuff like resistors and transistors. mosfets are surface mount so you better be good at soldering. or you could go buy one from the dollar store or something. im surrounded by them up here.

regular <through hole > components I dont have any problems with but I have not messed around with surface mounted components.

My post was mostly directed to wasuri, who is having range problems which usually indicates a bad L2 inductor.

Just because it doesn't look fried, doesn't necessarily mean that it is ok. The only way to know for sure is to measure it. Use a multimeter with an Ω check, or a continuity checker. Small inductors generally measure close to 0Ω (basically a short circuit). If it measures more than say 1Ω, it is bad. Both L1 and L2 measured as shorts (0.1Ω) on my board.

would removing both L1 and L2 make it go further?
Does RS have the parts to replace the L1 and L2?
