Fairlady Z (350z) cripple cap? Bad range!

I just got my Fairlady Z Bit Char-G and the range absolutely sucks.

I opened up the controller to check for the cripple cap, but I couldn't find it. In fact, the controller looks different from any other one that I've seen on the net.

Does anyone have any ideas?

the controller is different because its a single band boost controller.

please keep in mind that they are designed with short range so you can have multiple races in the same room. since there's not alot of spaces in japan

I needed some more reasons to explain the crippled range to a friend and you just gave me that answer, very little space in JAPAN! hehe, makes sense.
