I used Penny Racer tires.

I'm now a member of the Pooch squad. I'm also a huge dork for sayin' that.

I read that someone used Choro-Q/Penny Racer tires turned down to a smaller diameter on their Puchi. I tried the rears and they were loose on my rims. I did however, use the fronts and they work GREAT. They are a bit bigger than the stock ones so it's faster now. They are also SUPER sticky. Traction out the wang!

Just thought I'd tell those who can't find Jada's or don't want to do the mod. I have only found the Jada's at one place. I have to buy 6 packages for 36 dollars. Not worth it to me.

I may do the 3 cell mod in a day or 2.

maybe if you post that in the BST section, you'd be able to get ppl to split the cost with you? i would! i cant find ANY near me. and when i get my Tomy RC Club car, i will need the larger ones

anways, have you found anywhere to put a 4th batt? cuz i can't, really pissing me off. my 120 maH batts should be coming soon! i ordered 10 of them to balance off the shipping, so i can make lots and lots of batt mods to my puchi!

Ya know, I'm rather upset. I added my 3rd cell and for the first 1/3 of the throttle travel, the car surges and twitches. Once I get past that 1/3 it is fine, and very fast. Not as fast as a 4 cell Epoch, but faster than a 3cell Epoch. I had to remove the 3rd cell, because I can't stand my propo not being smooth. Did this happen to you? Maybe it's cause I put the + end of the cell to the passenger's side. The antenna/reciever stuff is right by the + side of the cell. I wonder if it was getting feedback, or something.

Sad times.

your cars twitchy too huh? well johnk said that his was when he added his 3rd cell but my is still smooth, and really fast. WAY faster than a stock puchi, b/c i was racing my stock and 3 cell today and my 3 cell smoked it soo bad, by about 1 lap, and my track is pretty twisty. the - side of my battery is where your + is, so maybe thats what making yours soo twitchy??

make sure you cover the - side of the battery real well, so that it doesnt touch the + side of the antenna. you might fry something if you do that.

I figured it out. I tried it again and moved my wires around to where they are no where near the stuff on the PCB. I ran them around the side and I also wrapped my cell in black tape to insulate it better. I think the reciever was getting feedback from the open end of the cell. It's pretty smooth now. I like it. It's still not as fast as my 4 cell Epoch was, but I am using the small front tires off a penny racer, so they're probably shorter and slower. I think the American Takara Penny Racers are different than the Japanese Takara Choro-Q. My rear Penney's rear wheels are larger than the Pooch so the tires are loose and don't fit. I have to use the front's. They work fine, though.

i think it might be the DUB city wheels that make it faster. because you can switch tires on it.

hey do you think you could get some dub city sets? you could ask the people here who have puchis if they want some? PLEASE i really what a set for my puchi and my RC club

thanks man. wait do you have a pic of your 3 cell? cuz you said the positive is on the passanger side. does that mean you put it in the front? cuz if you put in the back, both sides are the passanger seat

U serious? Well, I don't have pic's yet, but it's set up like the one's you posted. The passenger side of a car in the United States is the right side, no matter whether in front or back. It's still the pass. side. You're probably just joking, right? Anyway, I switched the set-up from + on the right, to + on the left with the wires running down the side of the PCB. Now it doesn't twitch, and it's smooth. My right rear axle is slightly tweaked because I ran in off the counter onto a lanolium floor. GRUMPY!!! It still works fine, but now it sounds a teeny bit like the Jetson's space car, you know putter putter...Still fast as all get-out.

Do you think it would fit in front of the reciever antenna? Insulate it really well, and see if it would cram in there.

Try using black electrical tape, I think it would insulate better with just one layer. Or you could use shrink tubing.
