You can't really compare them, they're like apples and oranges. Xmods are $60.00. You can get the older ones for cheaper at some Radioshack's and on Ebay. They're both very fun, I think the Xmod is worth it more though. They're both reliable, Zipzap more often because you're not always taking the chassis apart and putting new parts in. Zipzaps can have new motors, wheel covers, bodies, and tires, not much else can be done to them. Xmods can have new bodies, new parts for the bodies, new wheels, new tires, new lights, new motors, new suspension, pretty much everything. If you have the money and time, go for the Xmod, you'll enjoy it more because of all the upgrades you can do to it. Your choice in the end though.

Xmods are faster and I agree with truckian are defineatly worth more. There is a lot more you can do to the Xmods than the ZZ. I own one ZZ and the only upgrade I could do to it was change the body. The motor upgrade that RS sells wouldn't work in it where as I have never had a problem with any of my Xmods. If you look around on Ebay and are careful with your bidding you can get a gen1 and possibly an Evo with all sorts of upgrades for about the price of a stock one new.

I think so, atleast my experience has been that they are. A buddy of mine has a gen1 WRX and has broken the body and chassis on it, but then again he's playing demoliation drby with it. I do know that the Evo Lancers and a few Mustangs have had problems with some of the plastic being broken out of the box, and one guy even had bad luck with faulty steering on the Mustang, but other than that I really haven't heard many complaints. As for the the ZZ, I really don't know how you'd break one unless you stepped on it.
