The problem is the 150 mah nimh cell is not making full contact to the positive and negative plates. the reason why the car is working is because when you charge it the energy skips the battery and straight to the pcb board and now you probably busted your pcb chip because it had no where to store that burst of energy. That is why i always charge it for 5 seconds then take it off to see if it works even a little bit so i know that there is contact. Also with 150 mah nimh cells, if i recall, you must bend the tabs that hold the battery a little bit torward the middle so they are shaped like this +/___\- get it? before they were like this + |__| - and after they should look like this +/___\-
*EDIT* however dont bend them 2 MUCH LIKE THAT PICTURE it was just an example. Bend just a tad enough so that the tab will lean forwar a little bit (you can feel when its bending and when its bending forward)
