I HAVE HAD A ZIPZAP WITH 4.5V GOING THROUGH THE TRANSMITTER AND IT DOUBLED THE RANGE. in conjunction with a bigger antenna it went from 6foot to about 30foot. another benefit of this would be the ability to charge a dual battery car from your controller.
i also have an nkok micro sea explorer boat that has a 27mhz controller that gets 50+ feet. it is because it has a 9v in it and a separate 6v charging pad that i use for my dual battery cars. maybe ill convince my friend to wire up a 9v into a clone controller.
