use three batteries in your controller.
or wire in a a/c->d/c adapter plug and get a 4.5v adapter between 500 and 1000mA. do a search on the boards for pics/part numbers etc..lots of people have done it and posted already.
when away from home i use a 4.5volt battery pack(3-AA's) with an adaptaplug on it for charging. my plug on the controller is switching so i can leave the two AAA batts in while charging.
on a dead car, i charge twice for two *150mA* batteries. on a car that moves but is just starting to slow down..1.5 charges. if ive been using it for 15 minutes, and it's still moving fast..i'll give it a 1 charge refresher.
i have yet to blow a pcb, motor, battery or controller with this method.
