Category 5 cable is so similar to ethernet cable that it's the exact same thing.
If you don't have some scrap cable just sitting around, it's not worth buying one. Go to a local (non-chain) computer store and ask if they have like a six inch scrap of Cat 5 (unterminated). They'll probably give it to you for free if they're cool.
