Butler, I lowered my body also but, I recut the new slots in the body. I used a small circular cutter on my Dremel to cut the front of my RX7 above the radiator opening but, not all the way through and cut the rear opening upward and then filled in the original with some basswood, feathered it in with some putty, had to open up the wheel wells some for more tire clearance. It sits about .050" lower now and not as 4X4 looking. Just about finished with the painting and I'll post a pic when it's all done. Also, made it into a drop top with no spoiler, painted in pearl yellow. All"s I need to is to finish up the interior and driver.
