[Tee Bee]

I've got the RS 1/43 Viper and a Mini-Z. The Epoch Spec 2 is really cool, but I don't think there's much in the way of hopups available. The RS Viper has no hopups and doesn't really invite tinkering, just driving it. It's a novel car for its size and lights, but can be a little disappointing if you want handling and quick, responsive steering. There's no rear differential. I would highly recommend the Mini-Z if you've got the room and a good surface to run it on. Lots of hopups available. This car can be completely disassembled with a good quality #1 screwdriver and just invites tinkering around. Ours was really a B-Day gift to my 13 yr. old, but I enjoy it as much as he does. I guess I'll get my own some day so we can race them together instead of taking turns with a stop watch. We run it on a laminate wood floor with the soft compound tires. It's challenging, but possible. We also have a smooth concrete patio that's perfect for outdoor racing. Various diffs, bearings, shocks, wheels, tires, lighting kits, etc. are available for the mini-z's. Good luck on your decision.
