Supras have an Inline 6. Skylines also have an inline 6. Inline configurations offer more torque than V-configurations with the same cylinder numbers and/or displacement.
Personally, give me a well tuned RB26DETT motor over a 351 windsor or an LS1 any day. Don't get me wrong, I like all sorts of cars from classic muscle to modern performance, but I tend to lean towards modern performance over some of the classics. I still want a 69' Camaro SS in my garage though.
