Sorry, I guess I misread about the deck.
I'm not really sure about the stage 1 motor. I was under the impression that the lower the speed of a motor, the more torque it would have.
One thing I have heard people do to increase the torque of a motor is to swap out the magnets inside with neodyminium (spelling?) or rare earth magnets.
