i think someone on another forums metioned that xmod bearings fit the axles. the bearings would pobably reduce the friction between the gears and allow more efficient running. for the diff, just lock it....or return it, since wal mart takes back everything, even muddy boots (long story.) i am going to try to get to a supercenter this weekend, since the only is uptown and i am going to a family BBQ. i hope i can find the chevy avalanche and colorado, since they are both already chevy bodies, but i will cut them up to give betterapproach/departure angles.
how do you guys rate the torque on them? i was thinking of using an airtronics 5:1 gearbox or a 4:1 gear box with a mini-t motor to make it bash good.
i want to make a custom chassis for it, with maybe a 3-link (if there is enough space to make it with 1/8" rods.) and i will mount the shocks on the links for more travel. talking about shocks....do you guys think mini-t oil shocks will fit and give good travel?? i was also thinking of adapting mini-t wheels with 1/18 dirt hawgs so it has better grip and bigger tires.
i think this will be a mini-t/mini crusher basher and crawler, when good things come together, even greater things come out.
